Tigh Na Mara is a detached property offering spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated self-catering accommodation on the secluded shore of Carragreich Bay. All reception rooms and bedrooms have stunning sea views over to the isle of Scotsay.

The house sleeps up to 8 comfortably (7 adults plus 1 children) and consists of 2 double rooms with a king size beds, 1 twin room and a single bedroom (1 camp bed, a cot and high chair are available on request.)

Tigh Na Mara is ideal for 2 families or larger groups of visitors. The house has previously been rented out as 2 separate holiday homes and offers flexible accommodation.

Leading from the front porch and hall is a large kitchen/diner with wood burning stove. The hall staircase takes you to a double, twin and single bedroom plus a family bathroom with bath and walk in shower. There is also a small cloakroom toilet from the hall and the main reception room which has an open fire and seats 5. A connecting door leads from the main reception room to the second living room which has a wood burning stove, sofa bed and foldable dining table and a small kitchen and shower room at the back. A staircase leads from this living room to a double bedroom.

There are TV's with DVD players, books and games in both living rooms. The house has free wi-fi (whilst we do have the best available on the island it may be slower than you are used to.) In addition to the wood burners, the house is heated throughout by electric radiators and storage heaters.

We have recently converted our attached outbuilding into a games room with pool table, darts, table football and a separate utility room. Bikes can also be stored in here.

The price is inclusive of electric, bedding, towels and 1 bucket of coal for each fire.

There is parking for 2 vehicles next to the house and plenty more at the top of the road.

Guests can enjoy the passing wildlife such as otters, seals and porpoises through the window or sitting in the front garden, a pebble beach is revealed as the tide goes out. We are also perfectly located for hillwalking, cycling, kayaking or simply enjoying the tranquil surrounding.

Tigh Na Mara is situated at the foot of a private road approximately 4 miles east of Tarbert and just under an hour drive from Stornoway Airport.

During off-peak season bookings can be more flexible, please contact us for reduced rates for lower occupancy or with any questions regarding accommodation.

I am available by phone and email prior and throughout your stay and am more than happy to suggest activities etc. The housekeeper lives less than 10 minutes away and there is a maintenance company on hand.

Brilliant cottage, brilliant location

Lovely, well equiped, clean, warm, brilliant location. Saw otters and herons 20 feet away almost every day. Such a treat to stay here. Will definately be coming again
